The Harz-Mountains are Germanies most northern located mountains.
It covers an area of about 2200 square kilometre, is about 100 kilometre long and 30 Kilometre wide.
Mining and wood industry where dominant for this region from 1500 to 1900 a.Ch.
Most of the kultural attractions were created during that period.
After that period was over, cities and towns started to work in tourism.
this because this region provides a wonderful nature as well.
A large number of Hotels and Guest Houses were build by former factory owners.
And today they are still running.
Today the Harz Mountains provide a fascinating mix of history, culture and nature.
